A few reminders for your web resources
Web Resource Resources
How to find a web server
- Dedicate a bit of your personal server
- Do some research and discover how to post HTML pages to Blackboard
- Use a free web server (e.g., http://www.geocities.com; http://www.freeservers.com )
How to create your web resource
- First, focus on the content. Make sure you have everything the syllabus specifies.
- Then, there are many tools you can use including MS Word, MS Publisher, MS Expression Web, and many others (check Download.com ).
- Depending on the web server you chose, your publishing routine will vary.
REMEMBER...
- Your web resource should be a one-stop introduction to the technology, vendors, products, reviews, implementation examples, and business benefits of your chosen technology. Be thorough!
- You must add your own original analysis and prose. This is NOT just a list of links and copied information. In your own words you need to write material such as (but not limited to)...
- What is the business problem this technology solves?
- What firms find this technology useful?
- What are the challenges that this technology introduces?
- If one were to implement this technology, what issues do they need to be aware of?
- How would you compare the vendors of this technology?
- What are the important product attributes?
- Focus on substance, not style!
